London Calling For The Whisky Shop

The Whisky Shop is set to to open a large showcase whisky store in the heart of London.

And managing director Andrew Torrance says the state of the art store will take whisky retailing to new heights when it opens in Mayfair in November.

The store, with the prestigious address of 70, Piccadilly,  London W1, will occupy 130 square feet, making it one of the biggest whisky shops in Britain, and the biggest store in the 20 plus Whisky Shop chain. The site, which is opposite The Ritz, was until recently occupied by Russian airline Aeroflot.

“We will be opening at a highly prestigious location in one of the most dynamic cities in the world,” says Andrew. “It’s very good news for the world of whisky because it reflects how far the category has come. Every other luxury good has a showcase store in the capital and now whisky has too. It will put the world’s finest whisky in an environment they deserve.”

The Whisky Shop will be working with its distilling partners to create a store unlike any other whisky shop in the country. The focus will be on the premium end of the whisky market though not exclusively. The idea is to offer customers a special bespoke buying experience.

The London opening will cap another remarkable year for The Whisky Shop, which has added stores in Birmingham, Hanley near Stoke, and Nottingham to its ever growing list of stores.
